Whenever I think about Wes Anderson or that flat, carefully-framed shot that's become commonplace for him and his contemporaries, I always think about this shot from one of the Pete & Pete shorts:

MTV-style editing has long been a vocabulary term in film textbooks, perhaps it's time Nickelodeon-style framing got its due
