Henry Payne cartoon 07/28/2015

I love this cartoon. It’s got everything you could want from a political cartoon: a long-debunked conservative conspiracy, demonization of some random government slob unknown to normal people, a seemingly inexplicable slam against Jon Stewart, and a topical reference to a popular movie currently in theaters! It’s a close runner-up to this one as my favorite of the month.

Pirate Fairy Croc

The Tinker Bell movie The Pirate Fairy features origin stories for (spoilers!!!) Captain Hook and Tick Tock Croc, which means the Peter Pan Timeline is as follows:

  1. The Tinker Bell/Pixie Hollow movies
  2. A few decades pass, during which Captain Hook loses his hand and Tinker Bell meets Peter Pan
  3. Peter Pan
  4. Jake and the Neverland Pirates (takes place shortly after Peter Pan according to one episode where the Darling children are the same ages)
  5. 20-30 years pass
  6. Peter Pan II: Return to Neverland (takes place during World War II)

I hope this information is of some use to you.

Awful Link of the Day – Tumblr’s lifting community:

Shoplifters of the world wide web, unite! Tumblr’s “lifting community” is a burgeoning subculture of young girls who steal makeup and clothes, then brag about their ill-gotten gains for all to see.

A Google search suggests I am the first person to use the phrase “shoplifters of the world wide web, unite!” tips hat

Mallard Fillmore Watch

Mallard Fillmore, 07/13/2015

After like two weeks of strips about trigger warnings, I thought perhaps Bruce Tinsley had gone soft and was deliberately avoiding the big stories of the day – legalized gay marriage, the Confederate flag, Donald Trump’s comments about Mexicans – and then, BAM! He knocks it right out of the park!

Awful Link of the Day: Ellington Vengaboys Museum:

One of The Curator’s ultimate dream goals is getting the Vengaboys to visit him in rural Ellington, NY so he can pitch them on his idea for a Vengaboys movie, which he describes as “a science fiction thriller/action/adventure story about a levitating island.”
