2020 FILM IN REVIEW

Continuing this again, why not! This year I watched way way more movies this year than for obvious reasons (the release of HBO Max). I’ve made serious headway into my watchlist and there’s still so much more to see, which makes me acutely aware of my mortality. I also got a Letterboxd account which satisfies my compulsive need to tag things.

Best film I saw in 2020 that was released in 2020: Live From the Space Stage: A Halyx Story

Worst film I saw in 2020: I bought a DVD collection of old movies at Ross over a decade ago but I never watched any of them until this year, at a pace of one a month. It turns out they’re all public domain movies (despite this, each DVD starts with a hilarious CGI-animated FBI warning of a guy in jail) of extremely varying quality. So far The Inspector General is the least watchable one.

Good movie that was maybe not the best choice for quarantine viewing: Aniara
